What I’m wearing today!

It’s currently overcast in Beeston with sleet forecast for tonight – the amazing tropical weather of last week is but a memory, with only blustery April weather forecast for the next few weeks!
I went for a low maintenance look today, with my hair up in a bun.
I played around with my new Barry m wink eyeliner marker – I’m still having trouble getting the look I want with it but I’m hopefully making progress! I’ll do a review soon!
The top I’m wearing is like a lacy knit jumper I’ve had for years – I really need to get some new work clothes!
Purple flowery skirt! Again I’ve had this for years but I don’t care as I love it (and it’s ageing well!).
Sparkly silver shoes! I rarely wear these shoes as they hurt like an SOB although that breaks my heart since they’re so beautiful. I’m going to make an effort to wear them more when I don’t have far to walk.

What I’m wearing today

And it’s officially the first day of spring – hurrah! It’s still pretty chilly in the mornings and evenings, but things are definitely on the up…. And the clocks go forward this weekend, meaning that it will stay light until about 8pm!
Today I’m wearing a green sheer long sleeve top under a black flouncy dress!
I still can’t be bothered to do anything too high maintenance with my hair at the moment so it’s up in a bun ring.
Marty is wearing his regular tuxedo coat. He’s a stylish cat, this guy.
No nail polish today – in deciding what colour to go for next – I’m thinking bright pink.
Shoes – brown Mary Jane style with a chunky heel. I’ve had these for years and they were originally from New Look. Still going strong.
Breakfast today – muesli with nuts, yoghurt, blueberries and cinnamon. The perfect mix of carbs and protein to keep you full all day! Plus cinnamon helps to regulate your blood sugar and it’s scent actually boosts brain function!

It’s a lovely and sunny (and chilly!) morning in Nottinghamshire this morning. Fun fact – Nottingham was named for Snot – the Saxon ruler of the area in the 13th century. Snottingham literally meant ‘the homestead of Snot’s people’. Over the centuries the s was dropped and it became Nottingham.
Today I’m wearing a cute black Oasis top with bows on and a purple (short!) ruffle skirt.
Like my retro shoes? They are from Primark and cost about £9. They’re pretty comfy, probably as they have a block heel.
And I’m wearing Revlon nail polish – the shade is cherries in the snow. It’s somewhere between red and pink.

Today I’m wearing 17 fast finish nail polish in knockout red. I really like this colour
I straightened my hair pretty badly… I’m not great at it!
I’m wearing my navy blue dress from forever 21. It has little blue and red flowers on it.
Wooly hat to ward off the rain – I also tucked my hair into my coat – there’s nothing worse than when your hair goes all frizzy in the rain!

I have realised lately that much of my wardrobe belongs to the blue/ green family (emphasis on the blue!) – see what I mean?
So today I bring you… The all blue outfit!!
Starting with Barry M navy blue nail polish (i like this colour okay but I definitely prefer the red/pink family for my nails!)
With a blue jumper (from primark about 4 years ago!)

I was trying to show you my hair…. I was trying to do a beehive ponytail but it never seems to work really. I need to check out some tutorials on YouTube!
Blue white and red (how patriotic!) check skirt from French Connection. I got this from a charity shop for £4! It’s lovely and soft. It was a size 16 but my mum took it in for me!

Here’s the view from my window this morning!
And here’s what I’m wearing this gloomy day!
Blue cowl neck top from H&M and patterned purple floral skirt from Warehouse – I’ve had this skirt for about 4/5 years now!!
With my black shiny court style goes from Peacocks (love peacocks and their website is pretty good but inshore is very hit and miss)
I couldn’t be bothered to straighten my hair so I fashioned it into a retro style and tied it back.
On my nails I’m wearing cherries in the snow be revlon, which is a fun cerise red/pink.
And the perfume I’ve been wearing a lot lately – chance eau fraiche by Chanel!

Posted: December 20, 2011 Filed under: Fashion | Tags: clothes, cold, fashion 3 Comments »Like the fluffy green gap hoody I’m wearing over my work dress? Stylish huh? I wore it to ward off the cold only to come outside and find it to be quite mild (6 degrees c). Bizarrely, the forecast for the next few days says that the temperature will double by tomorrow to 12 degrees (that’s 54 Fahrenheit for my American readers!)
Do you think about cost per wear when you buy clothes? I have learned this lesson the hard way as I’m always suckered in by amazing, pretty dresses that cost a lot but get worn once a year. When what I need is everyday stuff like hoodies and jeans! Since I bought this hoodie for £16 ($25) in September I’ve worn it constantly – its so warm and fleecy! The cost per wear on this bad boy must now be in the pennies!
Downside of having a fringe – the period of time between it growing too long and you actually getting to the hairdressers. It’s driving me mad!
Sparkly revlon amythest purple glitter polish over Barry m dark purple polish (a bottle so old it has a round cap not a square one!!). I meant to clean up my application this morning but clearly I couldn’t be bothered!

When I finally did I seem to have been channelling the spirit of old- school Blair Waldorf (headbands will NEVER go out of style for me!!) when I got dressed!

Its barely light by the time I wake up which doesn’t make me want to spring out of bed! In fact I’m getting up about 30 minutes (3 snoozes) after my alarm which is something I really need to stop doing.
This morning, Marty sensed my grogginess and helped me pick my outfit! Here he is perched on top of my wardrobe giving a purr or a hiss to my choices!
Nail wise I’m sporting 17 fast finish in knockout red. The fast finishes come in great colours but seem to chip very quickly for me.
I’m wearing a black sheer Primark skirt with embroidery stuff along the bottom. Marty is chillaxing behind me!
Plus a black vest top and red cardigan (its cold!).
