I went a hunting for dark purple nail polish last night and found wine red.
I actually DID something with my hair for once and straightened it- I think I’m going to get it cut off tomorrow!
I’m wearing a lacy black vest top with a blue shirt on top,
Plus my trusty butterfly skirt!
And black bow flats from Dorothy Perkins – so soft and comfy.
Salmon cream cheese bagal for lunch!
And yoghurt fruit and walnuts for my afternoon snack! I also have a vague idea of dinner forming in my head…

The weather in the UK is still gloomy and rainy and forecast to stay that way – not that I’m letting that bother me! I had a really fun weekend with lots of time spent with my boyfriend, snuggling the cats and at a friends birthday gathering!
Today I’m wearing a blue cotton dress with red and blue flowers….
Bright red heels ( I love these shoes they look glam but they’re low and easy to walk in.
And nails in Knockout Red by Barry M for a fairly 1940s inspired look!
I wanted to stay in bed as long as possible ( till 7.40 and left the house at 8.10!) so I just pulled my hair back in a loose bun.

What I’m wearing today!
Posted: May 1, 2012 Filed under: Fashion | Tags: fashion 7 Comments »Happy Tuesday! And happy May! We’ve just had the wettest April since records began in the UK and so far May isn’t shaking out much better, with cloud and rain on the horizon and no sunshine in sight.
It’s my friends birthday party this Sunday and me and Lee are also planning a trip to Matlock bath the weekend after (for our 6 year anniversary!) but the long range forecast is still for unsettled, windy and rainy weather 
(can you tell I’m British – we looove talking about the weather!)
Anywho… Today I’m wearing the green top and black dress I keep wearing a lot lately (think I need to tackle that ironing pile ASAP!)
I put my hair in a cute ponytail – no point trying any more elaborate styles as its very windy outside!
Riding boots for walking to work in the rain…
And my new Clarks shoes (suede so only to be worn out of the rain!)
I felt like doing something different this week so I painted my nails black and then did a purple glitter topcoat!

Here’s a few snaps of what I’m wearing today…
I also took some pictures of my walk to work – I’m really lucky that I only live twenty minutes walk from my job -
Look who else I saw on my walk – BUNNIES!! Can you see them? There are about four in the above picture, chilling on the grass.
This is an abandoned building on the site where I work! It was built in the 20s by architect Owen Williams and was used as the main office and canteen building for many years, until about 2005 when it was closed and all staff moved to the new head office building which I work in. You can see some more pictures of the Boots site here - the gardens outside D31 are beautiful, although mainly enjoyed by the rabbits apart from during the summer months!
More random news – this week I won a pair of shoes from Clarks! I could pick any pair I wanted, so much umming and ahhing commenced. I was very tempted by these little beauties, but I have around 10 pairs of lovely heels already so I went for some practical but also lovely suede flats – what do you think?!

What I’m wearing today!
Posted: April 10, 2012 Filed under: Fashion | Tags: fashion 1 Comment »Happy Tuesday! In the UK it’s the first day back after the four day weekend for Easter but I’m feeling bright despite eating pretty much only bread and chocolate for the whole four days!
The weather over Easter has been super gloomy with lashing rain almost every day. To counteract the grey, I painted my nails brightest red!! This is Barry M – I can’t remember the name of the shade but it’s the brightest Red one (their range isn’t huge). Oh, and it’s lovely and sunny today now that I’m back at work!
I am wearing my hair down (I actually applied products to it which is quite unusual of late!), slightly curly.

And finally, my black dress with green stripey sheer top under it, with a tan couloured belt and shoes. I keep wearing this outfit lately – but it works!

What I’m wearing today!

It’s currently overcast in Beeston with sleet forecast for tonight – the amazing tropical weather of last week is but a memory, with only blustery April weather forecast for the next few weeks!
I went for a low maintenance look today, with my hair up in a bun.
I played around with my new Barry m wink eyeliner marker – I’m still having trouble getting the look I want with it but I’m hopefully making progress! I’ll do a review soon!
The top I’m wearing is like a lacy knit jumper I’ve had for years – I really need to get some new work clothes!
Purple flowery skirt! Again I’ve had this for years but I don’t care as I love it (and it’s ageing well!).
Sparkly silver shoes! I rarely wear these shoes as they hurt like an SOB although that breaks my heart since they’re so beautiful. I’m going to make an effort to wear them more when I don’t have far to walk.

In line with the bright summer-y weather, I’m wearing a bright sunny nail colour! This is pink grapefruit by 17 lasting fix and its a really bright pink – almost a neon / jelly pink.
Today I’m wearing a blue striped top with a black work dress. What do you think?

And it’s officially the first day of spring – hurrah! It’s still pretty chilly in the mornings and evenings, but things are definitely on the up…. And the clocks go forward this weekend, meaning that it will stay light until about 8pm!
Today I’m wearing a green sheer long sleeve top under a black flouncy dress!
I still can’t be bothered to do anything too high maintenance with my hair at the moment so it’s up in a bun ring.
Marty is wearing his regular tuxedo coat. He’s a stylish cat, this guy.
No nail polish today – in deciding what colour to go for next – I’m thinking bright pink.
Shoes – brown Mary Jane style with a chunky heel. I’ve had these for years and they were originally from New Look. Still going strong.
Breakfast today – muesli with nuts, yoghurt, blueberries and cinnamon. The perfect mix of carbs and protein to keep you full all day! Plus cinnamon helps to regulate your blood sugar and it’s scent actually boosts brain function!

What I’m wearing today
Posted: March 13, 2012 Filed under: Fashion | Tags: beauty, fashion, hair, Primark 7 Comments »We’re officially into that awkward spring period where the days start chilly and damp and then turn into glorious sunshine and warmth (hopefully anyway!). This Sunday it was fantastically warm and sunny and I was actually too hot wearing a short, thin summer jacket! The British seem to possess an odd quirk which presumably comes from living on a rainy, chilly island – at the first sign of warmth they tend to make the most of it, which is a euphemism for taking off most of their clothes.
Anywhoo… Onto what I’m wearing today!
I couldn’t be bothered to straighten my hair today so I put it up into a kind of beehive bun. I’m not sure how I did it – I’m useless with hair but luckily my hair has insane volume!
Here’s that moment when I realise I’m wearing all primark! Yes, everything but my bra and ballet flats are from Primark!
I’ve had this shirt and skirt for at least five years and they could probably do with replacing… But they’ll do for now.
I bought some new makeup at the weekend with my advantage card points. I got this lilac shade by Barry M – what do you think? I wasn’t sure how it would look with my pale skin but I like it so far.
I also bought a new concealer – I got the healthy mix concealer by bourgois which was £7.49. I had previously been using benefit boi-ing for years, which worked great for me. I mainly use concealer to hide some darkness around my eyes. But when I finally ran out, I didn’t want to repurchase at £16.50 for about 4g so I looked for a cheaper one. This one was a bit more than I wanted to pay but the shade and coverage was spot on and I know how difficult that is to find! I’ll do a full review on it soon.
I also bought the new eyeliner marker pen by Barry M called Wink Eyeliner – again I will do a full review soon but here’s a picture of what I did with it this morning -
